WA WEEK

To celebrate WA Week, all of the classes at Wattle Grove decorated their doors showcasing either a Western Australian city or town, or some of the beautiful plants and animals found in WA.
Room 19 chose to create a door display about Geraldton. We used the laptops to research facts about Geraldton such as,
  • What is the population of Geraldton?
  • Where is Geraldton located?
  • How long does it take to get to Geraldton from Perth by car?
  • What is Geraldton famous for?
  • What can you do if you visit Geraldton?
  • What kinds of plants and animals do Geraldton have?
Once we had finished our research and note-taking we then designed a draft poster about Geraldton. We tried to include as many facts as possible on our posters.
To complete our posters we used Microsoft Publisher on the laptops. We used computer skills such as, inserting text boxes and WordArt, copying and pasting from Google images, formatting backgrounds, changing font sizes and word processing.
