WHAT'S ON IN TERM 4?

We have a lot of exciting events in Term 4. We have already had the Super Scientist Competition and the Music Assembly. We have also begun Humphreys Dance lessons every Tuesday.

Still to come:
  • Family Fun Night in Week 7
  • Swimming Lessons in Weeks 9 and 10
  • Presentation Night and Reports in Week 10
We look forward to another busy term.

LITERACY PRO

Room 19 have been working so hard to complete Literacy Pro quizzes. As a class we have now read over 3 000 000 words and lots of us have now earned certificates. Miss Dagostino is so proud of how much our reading and comprehension has improved.
Keep working hard on reading and passing Literacy Pro quizzes.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT

In support of the Family Fun Night, each year group is organising a game or activity to be presented at the event.
The Yr 3 classes are organising a Lolly Game stall and a Chocolate Game stall.
We would like students in Rooms 19 to bring in a large block of chocolate (dairy milk, crunch, kit kats) or a bag of chocolate to be used as prizes.
Please arrange for your child to bring in their contribution to their class teacher no later than Friday, 18th November 2016.
We appreciate your support in making this year’s Family Fun Night a great event.

HUMPHREY'S DANCE LESSONS

Every Tuesday Room 18 and 19 go out for a dance lesson with Melanie and Guy. We have already learnt a variety of dances such as a slosh dance, a partner dance and even hip hop. Each week we get better at remembering all of the steps and moves.

MISS THOMSON STUDENT TEACHER

We would like to welcome Miss Thomson to Room 19. She will be working in our class from Week 2 to Week 7. Miss Thomson has already played fraction games with us and she has shown us a very interesting Science experiment about how salt makes ice melt quicker. She has also been working on reading strategies with us.

SUPER SCIENTIST

In Week 3 we all presented our Super Scientist research or experiments. It was so interesting learning about how different things react to each other and how some things work. We saw several different experiments such as, egg in a bottle, balloon skewers, tornado in a bottle, lava lamps,  mentos and coke, walking on eggs and many more. All of the students spoke really well and they enjoyed being Super Scientists.
Room 19’s winners were Summer and Jacob. Summer’s experiment was showing how a boiled egg can get sucked into a bottle if you light a candle in the bottle and Jacob’s experiment demonstrated how to put a skewer through a balloon without popping it. Both experiments were excellent.
